‘Fed Cup is history’

Calcutta: Trevor James Morgan is not resting on the Federation Cup laurel. For him that’s part of history now.

The I-League is round the corner and the Englishman is now focusing on that.

“My focus is on the next match… Fed Cup is history. I-League is starting… We have two matches on the road (vs Sporting Clube de Goa on October 7 and vs United Sikkim on October 11). We have to make a winning start,” he said on Monday morning, at the team hotel in Siliguri.

“I do not want to talk about winning the I-League… What is more important is winning matches, If we win matches, then nobody can stop us from winning the I-League,” he said.

Mehtab Hossain, who led as regular captain Sanju Pradhan was not getting starts during the Federation Cup, also hailed the team’s unity. “We rallied around each other. Also, since the core of the team is same for the last three seasons, it is helping us,” he said.
