Imphal, Oct. 1: North Imphal Sporting Association beat Jsongtun Youth Club by 2-1 goals in the 7th Manipur State League at Khuman Lampak main stadium today.
Making amends for its defeat against United Sporting Association in the last match, the North Imphal Sporting Association raced ahead of less experienced Jsongtun team.
North Imphal got an early break in the 10th minute with S. Herojit Singh slamming home. Later North Imphal consolidated in the 62nd minute as Th. Borish Singh tapped home getting the better of Jsongtun keeper to post a two-goal lead. Thangcha Kipgen slammed home the only goal for Jsongtun.
Trekking
The Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association along with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan will be holding a seven-day Residential Adventure Camp at MMI Lamdan complex in Churachandpur district.
Hockey: Hockey India appointed B. Bimola Devi, SAI senior hockey coach, as one of the judges for the 2nd Hockey India Senior National Women’s Hockey Championship in Bhopal.
Sepak takraw: The All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association will be organising the 13th Mini Boys & Girls and 15th Sub Junior & Junior Boys and Girls State Sepak Takraw Championship from October 10-13 at Citizen Club ground in Imphal East.
District soccer: Imphal West District Football Association will be holding the Senior Women’s, Junior and U-17 and U-19 Girls Football League from October 16 onwards.
Trial: The Kamrup (R) District Kickboxing Association will hold a trial for the Assam Kickboxing Association team for the 1 IAKO National Inter-College Kickboxing Championship to be held here in November, writes our staff reporter from Guwahati. The trial will be held at the Govt MV School, Loharghat.
Arm-wrestling: A 45-member Assam contingent left from here on Sunday to participate in the 36th national Arm-wrestling Championship to be held at Trichur in Kerala from October 5 to 8.
Coaching camp: A coaching-cum-selection camp will be held for sub-junior boys and girls kabaddi players at Dudhnoi Sports Association ground under the auspices of East Goalpara Sports Association from October 5. Players below 16 years and weighing not more than 50kg will be eligible.
