Wasseypur lad Zeishan ‘Definite Khan’ Quadri will soon be back on the screen, albeit the small one. He will host parts of the game show Kaun Banega Lakhpati.
Quadri, who shot to fame as Sardar Khan’s son from his second wife Durga in Gangs of Wasseypur-II, was on Monday declared as the brand ambassador of the coal capital’s very own lakhpati game show that is scheduled to make its debut on a private channel sometime in December.
Quadri, who attended the programme at Dhanbad Club and flagged off a campaign vehicle for the show before leaving for Calcutta, said he would be more than happy to be a part of the game show.
“It is a very good concept as the show will entertain and educate people. Being a resident of Dhanbad, I wish it great success. It is an exciting assignment and I will be available for shooting between December 5-30,” he said addressing a news meet here.
M.S. Akhtar, the director of event management company Yes Group, which is organising the show, said posters and banners bearing the image of Quadri will be put up in various parts of the coal town for promotion.
The campaign vehicle, in turn, he said will reach various localities of Dhanbad and would carry application forms for interested residents. They can be bought from the vehicle at Rs 150 each.
Speaking about Quadri, Akhtar added that the Gangs of Wasseypur-II co-writer would take the host’s seat if a participant wins Rs 50,000 or above.
“We have not signed a formal agreement with a television channel. So we as of now cannot disclose the name. Negotiations are on and a formal announcement in this regard may be made in less than a week,” Akhtar said.
“There will be a change of host if a participant crosses the Rs 50,000 mark. Quadri will take over the anchor’s seat from the host, who will be a renowned celebrity with whom negotiations are on,” Akhtar claimed.
A grand stage for the shooting would be made at either Hirapur or Luby Circular Road locality of Dhanbad.
