New Delhi, Sept. 30 (PTI): A youth allegedly involved in a Rs 5.25-crore heist from a van carrying cash for an ATM in Delhi’s upscale Defence Colony on Friday has been arrested.
Deepak Sharma, who belongs to Haryana, was picked up for questioning from south Delhi yesterday and a large amount of cash and firearms were allegedly seized.
One of the van’s security guards was shot during the robbery. He died in hospital.
The robbers, who had arrived in a stolen Hyundai Verna, drove away with the van and abandoned it after a few kilometres. Two empty trunks that held the cash have been found.
