Nagaon, Sept. 28: Hosts Assam Rifles rode a hattrick by striker J.K. Beite to humiliate Zerikyndeng SC, Karbi Anglong 8-1 in a first round match of the 3rd KHEP Neepco Kopili Cup invitation football tournament, organised by the Garampani Sports Association, at Umrangsu today.
Beite netted four goals in the 25th, 27th, 29th and 46th minutes.
Midfielder Muan Beite opened the account for Assam Rifles in the 12th minute.
For Zerikyndeng, Tensing Millik scored the lone goal in the 56th minute.
Assam Rifles players L. Thanga, R.K. Singha and S.L. Hnema added to their opponents’ woes in the 65th, 84th and 89th minutes.
