Reading FC talent hunt in Arunachal

Guwahati, Sept. 27: Reading FC, a football outfit from Europe, is sending two of its coaches to Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday to explore the football potential of the state and groom promising players.

The coaches are Eamonn Dolan, director of Reading Football Academy and his deputy Lee Heron, according to Tomo Nomuk, adviser to Reading FC.

He confirmed the visit of a four-member team in a letter to Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki.

“If the Reading coaches find potential in the state’s players, it will place two qualified coaches in the state on a permanent basis to train and hunt for talent, who will then be trained at Reading Academy in the UK free of cost,” a CMO source said.

Takam Sanjoy, Lok Sabha MP and president of the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association, and Nomuk, a native of Arunachal residing in UK, are co-ordinating the endeavour.
