Few pleas for industry interface

The industries department is set to listen to the grievances of entrepreneurs during its first Udyami Adalat on Friday though the number of petitions from the industrialists has been less than expected.

“It was decided to hold the event on the 28th of every month and entrepreneurs were asked to submit their petitions by the 15th. Till Wed-nesday, we received only 13 petitions,” Afzal Amanullah, the principal secretary of the industries department, told The Telegraph on Thursday.

“Tomorrow’s event will begin at 3pm and the petitioners’ grievances will be heard. However, we will give preferences to those who had submitted their petitions by September 15. We expect that the response will be better from next month,” he added.

The department had released an e-mail id, idc_bihar@yahoo.co.in, for the entrepreneurs to submit their petitions on problems such as non-availability of land or issues related to Value Added Tax. The complaints can also be sent also through postal mails, courier services or organisations such as Bihar Industries Association and Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

“We will advertise the programme in a better way and expect to receive more petitions in October,” an official in the department said.
