X-tasy performs at Calcutta Club on Saturday. Pictures by Bhubaneswarananda Halder

Remember how Rock Hudson and Gina Lollobrigida lived it up in the 1960s classic Come September? Well, so did the members and guests at Calcutta Club for Come September Dance, presented by Black Dog, in association with The Telegraph, on Saturday.

The club’s badminton court was the evening’s makeshift dance floor as city band X-tasy soon got the guests tapping their feet and clapping along. Groovy retro was the flavour of the night with Wham!, ABBA and Elvis Presley on the music menu.

Auntyjis and Unclejis needed little coaxing to get up and dance with young and young-at-heart couples making it a moment to remember. Whether you know your moves or not, do your own tango was the mantra. Wonder if all that dancing was for those gifts that sat wrapped in boxes to be handed out at the end of the evening!

The night also saw DJ Koushik take the console with rock ’’ roll and Bollywood numbers. The club kitchen served up steaming plates of fried chicken, kebabs and fish fry and the bar kept everyone in high spirits.
