Calcutta: Coach Woorkeri Raman, who was discharged from the hospital on Monday after suffering an injury from a freak accident during Bengal’s practice session on Saturday, has criticised the CAB for the shabby infrastructure at the indoor practice facilities.
“Although the injury was unprecedented, it should serve as an eye-opener for the CAB… The association should look to improve their infrastructure. They should look for a wholesome development of their facilities… I hope this sort of injuries don’t happen to any cricketer,” Raman said on Monday.
CAB’s joint-secretary Subir Ganguly, who was present at the hospital when Raman was discharged, said that the association will try to improve the infrastructure. Raman will join the Bengal squad on Friday for the Challenger Trophy while the 14-member squad will travel to Rajkot on Thursday. “There is a lot of pain in the finger. I hope it gets healed quickly,” Raman said.
