Shillong, Sept. 24: A two-day pen-down strike will be observed by the non-teaching staff of 15 colleges in view of the delay in the payment of their pending arrears.
The non-teaching employees under the umbrella of the Meghalaya College Non-Teaching Staff Association will observe the strike on October 4 and 5.
The strike is likely to affect the functioning of colleges, as students have to submit their forms for appearing in next year’s examinations.
The association is seeking the release of 30 per cent arrears worth around Rs 1.7 crore, which is due to around 280 employees.
