Interface 2012, a festival of ‘alternative and contemporary expressions’ presented by Sapphire Creations Dance Workshop, saw troupes from across the country as well as Israel, Australia and Taiwan take the stage at GD Birla Sabhagar, The Harrington Street Arts Centre and ICCR. The five-day festival began on Friday with a felicitation of filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh (seen above with Sudarshan Chakravorty, artistic director of Sapphire) and theatre veteran Saoli Mitra. It was followed by collaborative performances — My Sweet Little Fur and Holi (top left) — by Israeli choreographer Idan Cohen and Sapphire Creations. (Left) Contemporary dance troupe Samudra Arts performed Jalam, a piece on water, on Day Three.
