SAIL buyback
New Delhi, Sept. 21: State-owned steel major SAIL today said its shareholders had approved a proposal to buy back its own shares. Following the announcement, shares of the company shot up 7.68 per cent to close at Rs 92.55 on the BSE. “It (buyback of shares) is an enabling provision that has been accepted,” chairman C.S. Verma said.
NTPC bonds
New Delhi, Sept. 21: NTPC, which expects to see additional power generation capacity of over 4,100 megawatt this fiscal, plans to raise up to $750 million through bonds and syndicated loans from overseas markets. “We plan to raise $500-750 million through bonds, and if we are unable to do so, we will raise $250 million through syndicated loans,” chairman Arup Roy Choudhury said.
Rolls-Royce
Mumbai, Sept. 21: Rolls-Royce has launched its Phantom Series II, the latest version of the premium car that came out in 2003, in the domestic market. The car is priced at Rs 4.64 crore onwards.
