E-monitor on centres for kids

The social welfare department will equip special panels with cameras to monitor activities at anganwadi centres.

At a news meet on Thursday, minister Parveen Amanullah said the project would first start in Jehanabad in a month where supervisory committee members would visit the centres to monitor attendance and can report to the department through text messages. It will ensure better facilitation of services, she said.

The department has also introduced e-dak, a service under which missives between government officials would be uploaded on www.icdsbih.gov.in.

The minister also focused on schemes being run by the Integrated Child Development Services — Sabla that empowers adolescent girls and Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana that provides Rs 4,000 in three instalments to pregnant and lactating mothers.
