Tuki meets Ambika Soni

Guwahati, Sept. 18: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki called on Union minister for information and broadcasting Ambika Soni in New Delhi on Tuesday and discussed various issues pertaining to strengthening the system of broadcasting and dissemination of information through government-owned mass media. He suggested upgrading the communication medium like Doordarshan and All India Radio.

IAY houses

Tea garden workers can avail Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) houses if they can procure an NoC from the garden management while all who have lost their houses in the BTAD will be getting the IAY houses, Assam panchayat and rural development Rakibul Hussain said soon after a meeting with Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday evening. Hussain also said 39,000 people residing in forestland would also get IAY houses. Even BPL beneficiaries with only ID numbers would be given houses under the project.
