The finals of The Telegraph 11th Corporate Indoor Cricket presented by Space Circle saw six teams slog it out on Saturday to claim Gold, Silver and Bowl Plates.
The Gold Plate saw a duel between HSBC and PwC with the team of bankers lifting the trophy. “It definitely feels good to win this tournament! This is the first time I led! A good team effort gave us the edge,” smiled skipper Avineet Jaiswal.
Vying for the Silver Plate was Team Telegraph and Lexmark with the former chasing 101. The Lexmark contingent, marking their debut, had the strongest team of cheerleaders who whistled and applauded their team to victory.
“This tournament was such a nice experience! Initially when we started playing, it was difficult for us, as we were trying to understand the rules of the game but then gradually we got a grip. Our team effort is the secret behind our victory,” gushed captain Sujay Kumar Bose.
Shree Venkatesh and G4S clashed for Bowl. The toss was won by G4S who set a target of 92. This game too saw some lusty cheering as G4S made a comeback courtesy brilliant fielding and bowling. The last over proved to be the turning point with Shree Venkatesh needing only six to win. A dot ball and a wicket gave G4S a five-run win.
