Jamshedpur, Sept. 15: Bihar urban development minister Prem Kumar today offered tips to Jamshedpur’s civic guardians, though he was impressed with the city’s cleanliness, drinking water supply and solid waste management.
Kumar, who arrived in the city this morning, held a closed-door meeting with officials of JNAC, Jugsalai Municipality and MNAC.
The minister identified that staff crunch in all sections was hampering urban bodies in both states.
“In Bihar, we have made appointments on contractual basis. An 11-member panel that we formed on a permanent basis in July is surveying all 149 towns of Bihar. It will give us a figure on staff requirement keeping in view the population growth. I will suggest a similar approach in Jharkhand too,” he said.
