Shillong, Sept. 14: A salesman, Shalja Das of Brenda Pharmacy, was arrested by Meghalaya police this afternoon for allegedly selling banned Spasmoproxyvon tablets.
The police recovered 77 strips of the banned drug from the pharmacy at Laitumkhrah’s Nongrim Road. Das was arrested after sleuths of the anti-narcotics task force laid a trap following the detention of two youths on September 11, police said.
When the duo was arrested, the police also recovered seven strips of Spasmoproxyvon tablets and a packet of cannabis (ganja) from their possession. During interrogation, the duo reportedly confessed that the tablets were purchased from Brenda Pharmacy.
