Nagaon Sept. 14: Guidai Club entered the pre-quarterfinals stage of 8th Chief Executive Member Club Football tournament, defeating Heaven Blue Athletic Club 4-2 in a second round match organised by Dima Hasao District Sports Association in N.L. Daulogupu sports complex in Haflong today.
The match was a 1-1 draw till the end of scheduled time.
Heaven Blue striker Hmangaizuala’s free kick brought the first goal in the 25th minute. It was equalised by rival Guidai midfielder Liankhosian Paite in the 32nd minute.
The second half was goalless as players of both teams missed several opportunities.
In the tie-breaker, Lalhmareaiswala scored for Heaven Blue. But Lalrutsanga, John Songte and Ngaisang missed their chances.
Ahaminphang, Sekhar Das and captain Somud Thaosen scored for Guidai. Liankhosian Paite missed.
Heaven Blue player Ramneilun was cautioned with a yellow card for unsporting behaviour in the 30th minute.
Warriors of Waimijing will clash with Blue Mouth Football Club, Hailakandi, in the first pre-quarterfinal match tomorrow.
