Friendly fire at Satabdi

Bolpur, Sept. 12: Actress-turned-Trinamul MP Satabdi Roy was today shown black flags by a dozen party supporters in her constituency in Birbhum apparently at the instance of the district unit president.

Satabdi was returning to Siuri after inaugurating a classroom at a school in Dubrajpur when she saw some people waving black flags at her in Kaithi around 7pm.

“I got off my car and asked them why they were doing so. Initially, they didn’t reply. But when I insisted, they told me Anubrata Mondal (district Trinamul president) had asked them to wave black flags at me,” Satabdi said.

“Mondal didn’t take my call,” she added.

The Telegraph tried to contact Mondal but calls to his phone went unanswered.

Satabdi said she had informed Mamata Banerjee about the matter.

Trinamul sources said Satabdi and Mondal were locked in a feud since the 2009 Lok Sabha polls.
