New Delhi: Traditional rivals Mohun Bagan and East Bengal are likely to have their first meeting in the 2012-13 I-League on December 9, according to the draft fixtures released to the participating clubs on Tuesday.
The second meeting between the two teams would be on February 9. The fixtures, however, would be officially announced after the I-League committee meeting in the capital on Friday. The league will begin on October 10 and the final set of matches in the cash rich 26-round championship would be played on April 28 next year.
However, the December 9 date may have to be changed since it clashes with the India-England Test match at the Eden. Though the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has already finalised the fixtures for all the 182 matches, venue problems, it seems, continues to haunt the 14-team league.
With the Cooperage ground in Mumbai still under renovation, the league committee has shifted the home matches of the Mumbai teams to Pune and Delhi till the third week of December.
