Nagaon, Sept. 11: Guidai Club defeated Kukithan Sporting Club 6-1 in a second round match of 8th Chief Executive Member cup football tournament organised by Dima Hasao District Sports Association at N.L. Daulogupu sports complex in Haflong today.
Guidai striker Kamminthang scored the first and second goals in the 22nd and 26th minutes. Rival midfielder Ngulminleian skilfully foiled Kamninthang’s third attempt in the 30th minute.
Kamminthang also scored the fourth and fifth goals for Guidai in the 57th and 58th minutes. Right winger Anup Johri’s corner shot brought the third goal for Guidai in the 44th minute. Guidai substitute Helun made good use of a pass received from Johri to score the sixth goal in the 63rd minute.
Midfielder Ngulminleian scored the only goal for Kukithan with a beautiful shot from D box in the 75th minute.
Guidai left-winger Biswajit Phanglo was cautioned with a yellow card for unsporting behaviour in the 43rd minute.
Heaven Blue Athletic club will clash with Denizen Club on Wednesday.
