Dengue patient

Siliguri, Sept. 9: A woman admitted to New Jalpaiguri Railway Hospital has tested positive for dengue, raising the count of those with the virus in Siliguri to four.

Doctors at the hospital have confirmed that the Mac Elisa test (confirmatory for dengue) on Satadal Dey, 45, was positive.

Seven other persons are admitted with dengue-like symptoms to different hospitals in Siliguri.

“Dey is an employee of the Northeast Frontier Railway and was admitted here on Friday with symptoms of dengue. We got the Mac Elisa test conducted on her yesterday and it was positive,” said P.K. Pathak, a medical officer at the railway hospital said.

“Her condition is stable and she is under treatment at the hospital,” he added.
