Her Rubenesque figure stirring a steaming pot has got many a man to devour a cookery show, but they will now have to do with less of the host with the, er, most! For Nigella Lawson has lost weight dramatically, coming down from size 16 to size 12. But the 52-year-old mother of two, whose ample curves have thrust her into ‘Most Desirable’ lists over the years, turned heads nonetheless at an ad shoot in London last week when she turned up in a form-fitting all-black ensemble flaunting her all-new shape.

So is it a rigorous exercise regime or a strict diet that is the secret behind Nigella’s new vital stats? “It was just loss of appetite, following a painful foot operation,” the ‘queen of food porn’ has been quoted as saying. Back in 2006, she had told a UK magazine: “I’d rather throw myself out the window” than diet.

Nigella revealed that it was her inability — courtesy a recuperating foot — to wander to the fridge time and again to grab a nibble that led to the drastic weight loss. “I couldn’t walk to the fridge.... Actually, it’s quite a good diet; not because I stopped eating, but because you can say to someone, ‘Can you get me a slice of cake?’ but it’s kind of embarrassing to say, ‘And now could you get me a second slice?’” the raven-haired stunner has said.

Though she is determined to stick to her present size, the host of shows like Nigella Bites and Nigellisima is not compromising on her food. Going by her tweets, the buxom beauty is gorging on everything sinful — chocolate truffles to fried food. ‘STARVING! Small bowl — baby bear’s — bowl of porridge w maple syrup to tide me over till chicken comes out of oven’ read a tweet from her last week.
