Imphal, Sept. 5: Manipur Police Sports Club outplayed JSongtun Youth Club by 5-0 goals in the 7th Manipur State League at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
The policemen started slowly but found the opening goal in the 18th minute with M. Somochandra Singh slamming home one. JSongtun had a few chances too but failed to convert them into goals.
In the second half, JSongtun received more of a setback with Ksh. Elvis conceding an own goal in an attempt to head a ball to his keeper in the 51st minute to give the policemen their second goal.
The cops pushed ahead in the 56th minute scoring from a penalty as M. Somochandra Singh made no mistake in slamming home the third goal for his side.
After this, the policemen were quite unstoppable as JSongtun almost surrendered with Henry Chawang scoring two goals in quick succession in the 69th minute and 78th minutes for the victory.
Manipur Police player Thanglal Kipgen got a yellow card.
