Footballers selected
Guwahati, Sept. 4: Altogether four under-16 footballers were selected under the Airtel Rising Star programme from the two-day selection trials held here from Saturday. Out of a total of 548 youngsters who participated in the trials, 22 were picked up for the final selection, of which A. Nengolson (Manipur), Vishal Saha (Nagaon), Dipankar Sonowal (SAI, Guwahati) and Techi Tatra (Arunachal Pradesh) have been selected for the national trials.
N-E soccer: Englongmir Club Dakshingaon will meet 4th Assam Police Battalion in the first semi-final of the Joyram Medhi and Dhiren Boro 4th North East football championship at Sarusajai sports complex here on Wednesday.
