Imphal, Sept. 3: Anouba Imagi Mangal blasted Eastern Sporting Union by 5-1 goals for the lead with six points in the 7th Manipur State League at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
Eastern Sporting opened its account as Lamminthang Touthang scored in the 43rd minute for the lead.
The Anouba Imagi team obtained its first goal with K. Naoton Singh hitting home in the 53rd minute. Naoton Singh consolidated with a header in the 60th minute and later T. Santosh Singh fetched Anouba Imagi’s third goal in the 64th minute to boost it with a 3-1 lead. Th. Vandona Singh netted home another goal for Anouba Imagi in the 89th minute and T. Santosh Singh scored the final goal of the day during injury time for Anouba Imagi’s 5-1 victory today.
An Eastern Sporting Union official later said, “There was lot of pressure on us and our players being inexperienced, our co-ordination was shattered by the huge margin of goals.” Anouba Imagi Mangal coach W. Khogen said, “A lack of conversion in the first half had left us in an awkward position but we came up with better results in the second half.”
