Lover goes on killing spree

New Delhi, Sept. 3 (PTI): An enraged youth today went on a shooting spree gunning down four persons, including his lover, before killing himself as she was married off to someone else.

Ravi, 25, first killed his lover Renu and her 53-year-old landlady Sheila in south-west Delhi’s Bindapur. He then travelled more than 40km to Ghaziabad to kill Renu’s father Harender and sister Baby.

Ravi, who was continuing his relationship with Renu even after her marriage, was unhappy with her family for not allowing him to marry her, a senior police officer said.

Renu and Sheila were shot dead around 9.10am in Bindapur. Sheila was killed when she rushed in after hearing the gunshot that felled Renu.

According to doctors, Renu suffered two bullet injuries while Sheila was hit by three bullets.

“At the time of the incident, a domestic help was in the house but she is so scared that she could not tell us anything,” a senior officer said.

Ravi then drove to Bhojpur in Ghaziabad where Renu’s family live. He entered the house and shot Harender and Baby, killing them on the spot, before going upstairs and shooting himself, the officer added.
