Ek baar maine commitment...
When Salman Khan read about the good work being done by Prof Santosh Desai, a Mumbai-based educationist and philanthropist in September 2010, he immediately pledged to donate to Shloka Missionaries, an NGO that works for the education of the poor. “Salman called me up and he took my bank account details. He has told me that he will contribute,” Desai said two years ago. Salman even tweeted about him: ‘Prof Santosh Desai ka jawab nahin. Kamaal karte ho yaar prof sahib’ and also urged his fans to contribute to the cause. Desai was inundated with calls and emails from across the world pledging help. But two years later, he is still waiting for the donation that Salman promised. “After that initial call from Salman, I haven’t heard from him. Maybe his promise at that point was just a publicity stunt. Though I won’t like to think so,” says the disillusioned Prof. Seems like this is one commitment Salman Wanted Khan has forgotten. Tsk Tsk!

Rockstar might not have rocked the box office but Imtiaz Ali is high on Ranbir Kapoor’s list of favourite directors. The buzz from Imtiaz’s office suggests that Ranbir is all set to work with him again. “It’s an idea that Imtiaz has been mulling over for a long time. Though the final script is not ready, Ranbir loved the concept and has given his go-ahead,” says a source. Incidentally, Rockstar was also an old idea that Imtiaz had but he didn’t consider Ranbir initially. “He had wanted to make that film with John Abraham but things didn’t work out. When he told Ranbir the idea, he immediately wanted to do the film,” adds the source. Ranbir is expected to prioritise Imitiaz’s film over Abhinav Kashyap’s Besharam after the initial producers Viacom 18 pulled out citing creative and monetary differences.

Some relationships just boggle the mind. Two young actors who have co-starred in two films have gone hoarse telling everyone that they are not a couple. Yet, they are spotted together on movie or dinner dates across Mumbai. When talk about his affair with his latest co-star emerged, he didn’t waste any time getting back with his first love. Recently, the actor was shooting for a film magazine when his lady love decided to drop in. That obviously raised eyebrows as she had never shot with the particular photographer before. While the rest of the crew were still wondering about the point of her visit, the couple started kissing in plain view. The shoot continued only after the actress left the set — not before spending an hour locked up with her beau in the make-up room. And then they wonder why people think of them as a couple!
