Accident averted

Dibrugarh, Aug. 28: A major accident involving the Rajdhani Express was averted at the Twenty Mile area of Chabua in Dibrugarh district in the wee hours today when the driver of the locomotive managed to stop the train just a metre away from a truck lying upside down on the tracks.

Body found

Dhubri: The body of Dipankar Paul, 15, of Chagolia village in Dhubri district, was fished out from river Raidak on Monday. The boy went missing on Sunday.

ATM dry

Dhubri: ATMs of Dhubri districts went dry following bandhs for two consecutive days, after a Sunday. Customers were found running from one ATM to another to withdraw money but found all the ATMs dry in Dhubri town and elsewhere in the district.
