Manoj Tiwari’s fans will be able to buy his new album of patriotic songs Jai Bihar on Gandhi Jayanti this year.
The Bhojpuri actor and singer, who has recently gained national fame by singing “Jiya tu Bihar ke lala…” for Gangs of Wasseypur, will begin shooting for his album at various places in the state on August 24. Veecon Music, which produced Amitabh Bachchan’s Hanuman Chalisa, will release it.
Discussing the inspiration for the album, Tiwari told The Telegraph: “The song Jai Bihar, jai jai Bihar… has been very popular. Chief minister Nitish Kumar heard me perform the song at a Bihar Divas function in Mumbai. He told me that he liked the number very much. So, I decided to include the song in my new album and shoot a video for it.”
The video will depict various historical sites in Bihar.
“It is important for the youth of the country to learn about the places of historical interest in our country. I was talking to a young man in Mumbai. Asked what the national emblem of our country is, he correctly answered the Lion Capital of Asoka. But he did know where the original was located,” Tiwari said.
The emblem was adopted from the Lion Capital of Ashoka at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh. At present, it is preserved at Sarnath Museum.
The singer added: “The video for my song will profile places of historic importance and spread awareness about how they are important to Bihar.” In Patna, the shooting will take place at Golghar, Patna Museum, Gandhi Maidan, Shahid Smarak, Mahavir Mandir and the gurdwara at Patna Saheb. Tiwari and his team will also shoot at Nalanda, Vaishali, East Champaran and Rohtas districts.
“The ancient Nalanda University is one of the oldest educational institutions in the world. Sher Shah Suri’s octagonal tomb is located at Sasaram in Rohtas. I shall shoot at all these places,” Tiwari said.
He added: “It is always a privilege to do something for my state.”
