ANVC-B appeals for peace, normality

Shillong, Aug. 19: The ANVC (B) has urged the Muslim community of the state and the region to pray for northeasterners in other parts of the country so that peace and normality can be restored in the region in particular and the country as a whole.

In a statement issued here today, the ANVC (B) also said the situation in most cities in the southern states is still tense despite the authorities assuring them of security and assistance.

Students and employees from the Northeast are fleeing from various cities, as rumours of incidents coincide with the fear of possible attacks, the militant outfit said.

“The ANVC (B) feels the Muslim community can play a vital role in dousing the ongoing tension in the country by pleading for peace. This year, Ramazan would mean a whole lot if the situation comes back to normal after Id,” the ANVC said.

However, the outfit felt that if the situation was not brought under control soon, one has to guess a possible political ploy, which may have resulted in the situation flaring up.

The ANVC (B) also appreciated the efforts of various governments and authorities of many states in trying to defuse the fear and tension among the northeastern people.
