Nano joy for Jay Leno

- ‘CAr represents india’
Tata Nano was added to Jay Leno’s Garage in May

Los Angeles, Aug. 19 (PTI): America’s popular TV show host Jay Leno is highly impressed with one of his latest acquisitions: a Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car, which he says represents India.

“It’s a great city car. It’s no different than all those electric cars you see running around and it’s $2,700… it’s amazing,” Leno told CNN.

“I like this car for what it represents to India. To me, India is turning up with more engineers and scientists than anyone else. In the old days, technology was expensive and labour was cheap. Now, it flipped. Now technology is cheap and labour is expensive.

“To me, it’s not necessarily about the car. It is what the car represents...” he said.

Leno owns approximately 100 vintage and sports cars. He also has a website called Jay Leno’s Garage, which contains video clips and photos of his automobiles in detail.

Among his collection are two Doble steam cars, a sedan and a roadster that was owned by Howard Hughes.

Jay Leno’s Garage added the Tata Nano to its collection in May.

Leno has a regular column in Popular Mechanics, which showcases his car collection and gives advice about various automotive topics, including restoration and unique models, such as his jet-powered motorcycle and solar-powered hybrid.
