Bagan no-show

McDowell Mohun Bagan players did not turn up for their first Calcutta Football League Premier Division match against Southern Samity at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday. The referee and other officials waited for 20 minutes before leaving the ground.

It was learnt that the fate of Bagan will be decided later by IFA’s Premier League sub committee on the basis of referee’s report.

Survi Patwari thrashed Sugandha Roy 11-4, 11-8, 11-3 11-8 to enter the final of the women’s singles category of the All Bengal Bhowanipore Bayam Sangha table tennis championships. In the final, she will face Paushali Ghatak, who beat Anisha Nandy 12-10, 9-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-8, 12-10.

Vivek Dinodia beat Dalip Tripathi 11-6, 11-7, 9-11, 11-5 to triumph in the Bengal Open Squash Championships on Saturday.
