New Delhi : Mary Kom on Friday had an interesting tale to tell during the felicitation ceremony organised by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the London medal winners.
“Both I and Saina (Nehwal) won bronze medals in the Olympics…But yesterday morning Saina asked me how I managed to excel in boxing after my marriage,” revealed Mary.
“I told Saina one day you will get married and you will have children. But you can still continue to play. I am sure your husband, whosoever he is, will support you. If I can do it, so can you,” said Mary with the entire audience clapping spontaneously.
Saina, on her part said, the medal at London Games would motivate her to attain greater heights. “This medal will provide me with the motivation to do bigger things. When I play in the next Olympics, I won’t have the pressure of not winning a medal.” she said.
