Guwahati, Aug. 12: Sports Authority of India SC handed an emphatic 2-1 defeat to Abutani SC in today’s match of the Green Valley Travels Jibeswar Goswami GSA first division league at the second turf of Nehru Stadium here.
After foreign recruit Henry Kelechi Oja put Abutani ahead with a goal in the seventh minute, striker Dwiden Giri Basumatary scored the equaliser for SAI in the 25th minute.
As the match appeared headed for a 1-1 draw, Hirakjyoti Moran struck for the match-winning goal in the 84th minute.
Yesterday, Green Valley SC were awarded a walkover as opponents Maharana Athletic Club did not turn up for the match.Tomorrow, City Police will take on opponents Rajbari Athletic Club.
