Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans and Maoists on Friday morning clashed in Gaya’s Kharaun forest under Dumaria block, but no casualty was reported.
The encounter started when CRPF 159 Battalion jawans were out on an area domination exercise. Spotting the security personnel, the Naxalites opened fire. The jawans retaliated and fired at least 15 rounds. However, taking advantage of the forest and the hilly terrain, the rebels managed to flee.
No casualty or injury was reported from either side.
