Cooch Behar, Aug. 7: Teachers of Acharya Brojendra Nath Seal College today allegedly thrashed a TV cameraman and a newspaper reporter a day after the Chhatra Parishad called a strike to protest the irregular attendance of the teaching staff.
The attack sparked fresh protests on the campus today and the Chhatra Parishad took out processions demanding punishment for the teachers.
The TV channel has filed a complaint with the Kotwali police station around 6 pm.
Manik Das, the camerman, said the teachers made him write on a piece of paper he had wrongfully entered the college.
Yesterday, the students had locked out the teacher in-charge of the college from his office, alleging that he rarely came to take classes. They made similar allegations about pass-course teachers too.
The Chhatra Parishad students had said they would hold a strike on the campus today.
