Docsí salary hike plea

Patna: The Bihar State Contract Doctorsí Association on Sunday demanded from the state government to raise the contact doctorsí salary/honorarium working at government hospitals from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000. he association also demanded to regularise services of contractual doctors.

Flight off

Patna: Air India evening Delhi bound flight-AI 415/416 has been cancelled from August 8 to August 31. The flight operates on Delhi- Patna-Delhi route and arrives at 7.30pm daily.

Gopalganj: Residents staged a roadblock on national highway 28 from 8am to 12.30pm after one Krishna Kumar died after having been administered a dose of measles by auxiliary nurse-cum-midwife Radhika Devi.

Darbhanga: Students of Darbhanga Engineering College allegedly set a bus on fire after blocking national highway 57 at Mabbi under Sadar police station of the district on Sunday after second year student Gunjan Kumari was injured in a bus accident.

Bike set ablaze

Patna: A mob set a motorcycle on fire after it dashed against another vehicle carrying a couple near Veterinary College under Airport police station on Sunday afternoon. A seven-year-old girl and her mother suffered head injuries.

Drowned

Patna: A trader Arvind Yadav alias Gopal Yadav drowned in the Ganga when he slipped from a country boat near Gandhi Ghat in Patna on Sunday. The body of Yadav, a resident of Musallahpur, is yet to be fished out.

Tint fines

Patna: A joint team of the traffic police and district transport office launched a drive against tinted glass on private vehicles and collected fines from about a dozen vehicles near Dak Bungalow roundabout on Sunday. The drive was launched in the wake of the Supreme Courtís recent directive banning the use of tinted glass in cars.

Cops attacked

Patna: A police team was attacked when it went to execute an arrest warrant against an absconder at Paina village in Madhepura on Sunday. n FIR has been lodged against unidentified persons in this connection.
