Sachin’s tips and U-19 stars

Calcutta/Mumbai: A confident under-19 skipper Unmukt Chand Friday said that interaction with Sachin Tendulkar will help the team in their title defence Down Under.
“We interacted with Sachin… He tried to give a lot of positive feedback and shared with us some of the experiences he had in the past 20 years. He spoke on World Cup and on the pressure. He told us to be ourselves on field and not worry about other things. So it was very good for us,” Chand said.

Meanwhile, Mohsin Sayyad and Manan Vohra will not be travelling to Australia with the India U-19 team for the World Cup. Ravi Kant Singh and Hanuma Vihari Gade are the replacements.

Majola ‘wins’

Johannesburg: Suspended Cricket South Africa (CSA) CEO Gerald Majola has won the first round of his disciplinary hearing on the allegedly irregular IPL bonuses he paid to himself and other CSA staff. Majola’s legal team have been calling for the chairman of the disciplinary hearing, John Myburgh, to step down because he made a non-binding advisory award in favour of CSA even before the hearing started.

CA coach

Sydney: Former Tasmania paceman Ali de Winter was Friday named as Australia’s new bowling coach.
