Anna party plunge

New Delhi, Aug. 3 Team Anna today took their first steps towards forming a political party or, as they termed it, “the fourth front” to contest 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Hazare insisted he would not contest elections but “by chance” if his people come to power, he would keep an eagle eye on them to stop them from becoming corrupt.

The team declared that “people” would decide on their candidates and fund their elections. “We will have to throw this government out. It is a long fight. This is not a party. It will be a movement from the streets to Parliament. Parliament has to be purified. There will be no high command in our party. People will decide the candidates and they will fund it," said Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal.

The activist said their manifesto would be drafted by visiting villages and towns, by talking to peasants and youth, and not in some air-conditioned room in Delhi.
