Tigress

Calcutta, Aug. 2: A 10-year-old tigress was trapped by forest officers today at a cowshed in Gosaba where it had sneaked in in search of food.

The tigress had entered the house of Netai Mondal late last night and had killed two goats when he raised an aalrm and villagers informed the forest office.

Forest officers from Chilla covered the cowshed with nylon nets and fired two darts from tranquilliser guns to tame the animal.

“We took the tigress to the Choils forest and released it after it regained consciousness,” an officer said.
