Deepika Padukone

Deepika’s turkish delights

When Deepika Padukone talks about having a sweet tooth, the actress is not exaggerating. Her plush Prabhadevi apartment is overflowing with boxes of baklava even weeks after she returned from shooting in Istanbul for Race 2.

Apparently, Deepika fell in love with Turkish sweets during her month-long stay there. So, just days before she was slated to come back to India for the promotions of Cocktail, Deepika visited one of the oldest and most famous baklava sellers in Istanbul and ‘literally bought the whole store out’.

“I bought all flavours of baklava. I ended up buying so much that we couldn’t carry it back to the hotel so the store had to specially parcel and send it directly to the airport! The old storeowner was so happy that we had finished almost all the baklava in the shop, that he gave us 5kg free,” giggled Deepika.

But the actress with a body to kill and die for, isn’t wolfing down boxes of baklava all on her own. “I’ve been sending boxes to all my friends,” said she.

Rahul’s miss...

The Housefull 2 guy gang

There’s an old bit of gossip that recently surfaced and is too funny not to share. The story goes that Sajid Khan wanted to cast Rahul Khanna in his madcap comedy Housefull 2. Khanna Jr was the original choice for the role that was eventually played by Shreyas Talpade. When the director first called Rahul, he seemed excited about working in films after almost three years. But then Sajid started getting calls from Rahul asking for a bound script to understand the backstory for his character. Anyone who has seen a Sajid Khan film knows that these are details that the director doesn’t bother with. So, Rahul was unceremoniously dropped from the Dirty Dozen just three days before shooting started. It’s sad neither of Vinod Khanna’s sons are carrying their father’s acting legacy forward. While Akshaye is too lazy to work, Rahul is constricted by his sensibilities and ideals.

his target

There is a new romance in town that’s got everyone buzzing. After all, it’s been a while since this failed actor, the son of one of the most respected and powerful director-producers in Bollywood, has fallen in love. His last serious relationship that almost had him walking down the aisle ended about four years ago and the actor had been footloose and fancy free since.

That is until he set his eyes on a not-so-young debutante. It was love at first sight for him and he told his friends he would have a relationship with the actress, even before they had met! What followed is even more bizarre. Instead of approaching the lady in question directly, he told a casting director for his production house about his interest, who in turn passed on the message to the actress. The casting director has now taken on the task of coordinating the new couple’s trysts. Tsk Tsk.

Can you name the actor and his ‘interest’? t2@abp.in
