Comedy film to tickle the funny bone
Gadbad promises to entertain youngsters

Bhubaneswar, July 25: A laugh riot is in the offing for all the cinegoers with the upcoming Odia flick Gadbad. The cast and crew of film came together on the mahurat ceremony that was held on Monday.

The team of Gadbad includes a bunch of young actors, some of them seen in television serials and in music albums.

The comedy of errors stars veteran actor Sidhant Mohapatra and five young artistes Preetiraj, Parthasarathi Ray, Ashwini, Ragini and popular face Jina who play friends in the film.

The excited debutant director Subhasish Pati and his team started the shoot the film immediately after the mahurat.

I consider myself lucky to be a part of this venture that involves a new concept of film-making in Odisha. It is a film for the youth and more importantly a comedy. Hopefully we will be able to make the audience laugh and enjoy, said Parthasarathi, who has been seen in various projects in Mumbai.

Director Subhasish, who has been in the entertainment business for the past eight years, is excited about his debut project.

I have worked as an assistant director under big names in the Odia film industry to accumulate skills and the knowledge of film-making. This is my first project as a director and Im excited since I believe our script is really entertaining, he said.

Ajit Sahu and Subhasish are producing the film. Cinematography is by Mumbai-based R.M. Swamy and the music is by Prem Anand.

Lyricist Devdas Chhotray is penning down lyrics after a long time and is being accompanied by Basantaraj Samal and Arun Mantry. Singers Tapu Mishra, Shakti Mishra, Subhasish Mahakud and others will be lending their voice for the playback. Veteran actors such as Debu Bose and Meenaketan are also a part of the project.

I was waiting for something interesting and had declined some offers last year. Im glad Gadbad came my way. Im looking forward to get my comic timing right, since I had never got an opportunity to act in a comedy before, said Jina.

Gadbad, which definitely sounds different, but not in the clichd way, is being shot in Bhubaneswar.

However, shoots outside the state are also being planned said a crew member adding that the tentative release of the film may be during Dusherra.
