Good start by Aditya

Mumbai: Ace cueist Aditya Mehta reigned supreme at the green baize to beat Paul Davison of England 5-2 in the Shanghai Masters Qualifiers being played at World Snooker Academy in Sheffield, on Tuesday.

Aditya started off well with a few 40+ breaks to go 2–0 up but Paul managed to pull one back in the third frame. He won the fourth frame to go into the mid-session with a 3–1 lead. A bad break cost Aditya the next frame where Paul made a 50 in his first visit.

From 3–2, Aditya played an aggressive game and constructed breaks of 44 and 30 in the sixth and a superb 78 in the seventh frame to seal the issue in his favour. “It’s been a good start for the season. Today’s match was an enjoyable one to pla,” he said.
