HPL move

Calcutta, July 24: To improve cash flow, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd (HPL) has floated an expression of interest for companies keen to utilise its idle capacity. “We have decided to offer idle capacity of HPL, which would be done through tendering process. It is not that we want to favour any particular company,” Bengal industries minister Partha Chatterjee said. He did not specify the amount of cash flow the beleaguered company is expecting from giving away capacity to others.

New Delhi, July 24: The empowered group of ministers (EGoM) on telecom, headed by home minister P. Chidambaram, today deferred a decision on one-time spectrum fee for existing telecom operators till the outcome of the presidential reference.

Maruti woe

Gurgaon, July 24: Maruti Suzuki’s woes at Manesar are piling up with the Haryana government asking the company to pay Rs 235 crore to HSIIDC as enhanced compensation to farmers for land acquisition under a Supreme Court order.
