STARS AND SWIPES

AB THE AAMIR FAN

Now that Bol Bachchan has released and been declared a huge hit by the tradewallahs, Abhishek Bachchan is pumped up to start shooting for his next film. “It’s going to be incredible to wake up every morning and get to work with one of the finest actors in the country,” gushes the actor about his Dhoom:3 co-star Aamir Khan. This will be the first time that the two actors will be working together. “I am terribly excited. It might sound rude but I’ve grown up watching Aamir. I was about 10-11 (years old) when QSQT released. Dil, Ishq... I have been a huge fan throughout his career. The golden phase of his career with films like Dil Chahta Hai, Lagaan has been brilliant. I would just be happy to do one scene with him and I feel very lucky about getting a chance to do an entire film with him,” says Abhishek, who is also looking forward to welcoming Aamir to the Dhoom gang.

Kalki’s got cold feet

There are few things in life that make Kalki nervous and shooting a song-and-dance sequence is one of them. While she has had fun shooting Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, the actress is not looking forward to the July schedule of the film. “Ayan (Mukerji, the director) wants to make me dance,” she says, with a dramatic sigh. Kalki, who is paired opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor in the film, has one dance sequence that also features the lead pair. “I told Ayan that I am a useless dancer and I will end up screwing the scenes. I am really nervous about the shoot.” In an attempt to ease Kalki’s nerves, Ayan has arranged for extensive rehearsals for her.

Who is telling the truth?

It’s one thing to get your publicist to spread rumours about yourself but when actors start verifying the rumours, it becomes a completely different ball game. Recently, a 40-something actor was in the news for having replaced another action star as the host of a popular reality show. It was just a “strong” rumour until the actor, who was promoting his film, confirmed that he was in talks to host the series. That’s when everyone started expecting the channel in question to make a formal announcement, but both the channel and production house are in the dark about these talks. Apparently, the show has been shelved for this year and will only go on air next year!
