CU defers Sanskrit exam

The Paper-I Course-II test of Sanskrit (honours) Part I at Calcutta University, scheduled for Friday, has been deferred to July 18.

The university decided to postpone the test after teachers at an examination venue distributed questions papers of Paper-I Course-II, instead of Paper-I Course-I by mistake on Thursday.

“An inquiry has been ordered to find out how the packet containing Paper-I Course-II questions reached the centre, Gurudas College, today. Action will be taken against the persons responsible for the lapse. We regret the inconvenience caused to the students,” said an official in the university’s controller of examinations department.

The BA Part-I Sanskrit (honours) exams are being held at 40 centres in the city, Howrah, Hooghly and South 24-Parganas. Wednesday’s exam was for Paper-I Course-I.
