Islampur, July 11: A teacher who was abducted from Chopra on July 4 returned home this afternoon after his wife allegedly paid Rs 20 lakh ransom.
Mohammad Habib was kidnapped from Chopra while he was returning to his house from Mohammad Bux High School on his motorcycle.
Chopra police had arrested Mohammad Ajimul, the brother of former CPM MLA from Chopra Mohammad Maimuddin in this connection.
The police said Habib was released at Ambari in Falakata and local people took him to the police station.
