IOCL probe
Jorhat, July 11: An Indian Oil Corporation Limited team today found anomalies in the way an oil tanker owner had carried oil from Tinsukia to a petrol pump here a couple of days back. The IOCL team had probed into the complaint of the petrol pump owner, who alleged that the tanker carried less quantity of oil than promised.
Assaulted
Jorhat: Two photo journalists were allegedly assaulted by David Pegu, a doctor at the civil hospital here, while they had gone to the hospital to collect news on Wednesday. The duo have filed a complaint at Jorhat police station.
Attacked
Jorhat: The Jorhat unit convener of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity, Lakhya Das, 30, was attacked by two persons, who came on a bike, near Barpool here on Wednesday.
Arrested
Sivasagar: Police on Tuesday night arrested Ananta Khanikar from Dimapur, who is wanted in several cases of vehicle theft and murder in the district. Sources said Khanikar has confessed his involvement in the murder of a Congress leader and abduction of a businessman.
