Rituparna in Raater Rajanigandha

Ten years after Aghaat, Pabitra Paapi and Nemok Haram, Rituparna Sengupta and director Anup Sengupta have teamed up once again for Raater Rajanigandha. “I’m looking forward to working with Anupda after a long time. Together we’ve given many hits in the past. Raater Rajanigandha is a very different film, something he has never done before,” said Rituparna, who plays Putul, a village belle who lands up in Calcutta and is forced into prostitution.

“I have been trying to do a different film with Rituparna for a long time. But somehow after she got married we never got to work together! Finally I came across this script and I approached Ritu and she agreed. The entire film revolves around her and a novelist who writes her story. I’m considering Rahul for the role of the novelist,” said Anup.

The rest of the cast includes Rajesh Sharma and Kharaj Mukherjee.

Produced by Cell Media, Raater Rajanigandha goes on the floors in August.
